Third Thursday Partnership
CELEBRATING CREATIVITY AND THE ARTS IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY.
We are proud to partner with the Hutchinson Recreation Commission to bring multiple annual arts festivals to downtown Hutch! Such events include the Street Art Festival in March and the Arts and Eats Festival in July, as well as many other arts-themed activities in Avenue A Park throughout the year in celebration of our community on each Third Thursday.
Shadow and Intern Support through the Boys and Girls Club and USD 308's EPIC Skillz Program
FOSTERing FUTURE GENERATIONS OF ARTISTIC LEADERSHIP.
We are proud to serve as one of many local organizations and businesses in support of USD 308's Epic Skillz program! Students in this program look at career possibilities in our community and learn important skills through hands-on activities that increase their knowledge and employability within their chosen field. We are proud to support the development of the youth that will one day lead our local arts community.
Mental Health Awareness Advocacy in partnership with the Milestone Clubhouse
ADVOCATING FOR MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS IN OUR COMMUNITY.
Starting in 2022, the Hutchinson Art Center partnered with the Milestone Clubhouse to provide their members with creative outlets and opportunities to share their stories as individuals with mental illnesses. Such opportunities have involved painting classes, a featured art exhibition in our front gallery, and a Third Thursday interactive community project advocating for mental health awareness. We are proud to partner with the Milestone Clubhouse in an effort to advocate for mental health awareness within our community!
Artists in Their Space: A Mini-Documentary Series
Artists share their stories.
Artists in Their Space is a series of interviews with artists who have exhibited in our gallery between 2018 and 2021. This series is produced by the Hutchinson Art Center, Hutchinson Community College Media Program, and Blue Barn Productions. This project partnered college students studying film and digital media with our local organization and a local photography and film company, helping them gain real-world knowledge and experience with tools, techniques and clients.
