2024 KIDS Summer Art camp
Join us for Kids Summer Art Camp at the Hutchinson Art Center! Two groups will meet for two weeks in June to create ART. The theme for the Art Camp is Collaborations Collide! Students will have the opportunity, not only to work independently on their own creations, but also with each other, community members, local businesses, and more!
Students will be divided into two groups: Group A (ages 6-9) and Group B (ages 10-13). Group A will meet from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, while Group B will meet from 11:00 AM to Noon. Grown-ups can sign their children up for Week One (June 4-7), Week Two (June 11-14), or both weeks using the button below. A single week costs $30 per child, and both weeks cost $60 per child.
Classes will be taught by Hannah Beam.
Hannah Beam is a local Hutchinson artist who specializes in live painting and collaboration. Her background in art education, graphic design, and small business add unique perspectives to her practice. She studied art education at Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University. When she's not having fun making art, she is having fun as a first-time mom to her 6-month-old baby boy.

“Tangle” - an example of Cutout Collaborations
An example of what Hannah will be teaching is best illustrated by the first lesson Cutout Collaborations. During this lesson, students will find existing images in magazines and collaborate with the imagery to create a new work of art. Students may combine several images, add paper elements, paint, or draw on top of the image to create their new work of art. Students will explore feeling, color, and ideas based on the original image and add their own unique interpretations to make something creative!
2024 Class Schedule:
Session 1: June 4-7
Session 2: July 11-14
Group A: Ages 6-9, meets Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Group B: Ages 10-13, meets Tuesday through Friday, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
