Hutchinson Public Library Exhibit: Anita Friesen

Through the month of October, artwork by Anita Friesen will be on display in the Hutchinson Public Library’s upstairs conference room.

Artist Statement:
“My indulgence in the expression of art came from my father, he started drawing as a young man and sold cartoon advertisements in the early 1940’s. He entertained his children with these drawings. However, like my father I did not pursue art as a source of sustaining income. When I retired from Hutchinson Community College, I decided to return to painting as a form of relaxation. I have been painting in acrylics for about 10 years. Soon to be 75 yrs old and still able to immerse myself in this wonderful activity. All of my paintings represent nature.”
