  • Hutchinson Art Center 405 N Washington St Hutchinson, KS 67501 USA (map)

Join us for a fun educational opportunity for children aged 6 through 12 every month, right here at the Hutchinson Art Center!

Children will meet at the Hutchinson Art Center on Saturday, February 15th. Students will be divided into two groups: Group A (1:00 to 2:30 PM) and Group B (3:00 to 4:30 PM), with each group covering different skills. Each group art class costs $8 per child.

The theme for the class project is Going Fishing!

As things warm up during the Spring months, people go out and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Some people garden and go on bike rides, while others go out to the pond and fish.

Groups A and B will be preparing for fishing season with this vibrant water color and foil fish project. We will learn how to make a color gradient background with watercolors, use colorful Sharpies on foil to make dazzling metallic fish. We will explore different types of fish that children can use as inspiration for the focal point in their compositions. use markers or colored pencil on top of their water color to create an underwater seascape.
