"Autumn is the season of observation. As we reap the final fruits from the gardens and farms which nurtured us throughout summer, autumn is the time to pause and notice the world around us changing in gradual and gentle ways. The tumbling leaves, the foggy rains, the migration patterns of birds against an early dusk sky - all a part of the graceful dance of our ecosystem. When frost replaces the dew upon the grass, and the natural world takes to slumber, winter welcomes us with introspection. In the warmth of our homes and the company of our loved ones, we look back on a year of glories and hardships, love, comedy and also pain - all memories shared. And hopefully, with a little bit of luck, we rest and awaken rejuvenated for the approaching spring. We usher in the earth’s first warm breath with hope for renewed life. Farmers plant seeds and families plan adventures, though we never truly know what each new season holds in store for us. This is Kansas, after all.
This exhibition encourages us to relish the unique experience of each season; to take the bad with the good and to see the beauty in nature through the eyes of another - through the eyes of an artist."
