The Hutchinson Art Center is excited to feature the artwork of Michael Schlyer.
Michael Schlyer is a ceramic artist who earned a BFA at the University of New Mexico and an MFA at Fort Hays State University. He taught high school art for ten years and was an Artist in Residence for the Wichita Public Schools. He is the owner of Flat Earth Clay Works and has been a practicing potter and sculptor for over 40 years. Michael has shown his work throughout the United States and has pieces in the permanent collections of the Wichita Art Museum, the Corning Museum in New York, the Hutchinson Art Center, and Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
We invite you to join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 11 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Enjoy an evening of light refreshments, great art, and live music by local guitarist and singer, Margot Kimble.
