Wichita Women Artists originated at the Wichita School of Fine Arts in 1950. Originally known as the Painting of the Month Club, the group changed its name in 1967 to Wichita Women Artists. Membership is limited to 40 artists, whose work is evaluated and voted in by existing members. This group provides awards for local art competitions, including Scholastic Art Awards, the Kansas Watercolor Show, and the Wichita Garden Show. Artwork displayed in this exhibit will showcase the variety of mediums that the WWA artists work in including oils, watercolor, alcohol ink, mixed media, and pastels and in widely varied subject matter including Kansas scenes, florals, portraits, and landscapes.
