Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso walk into a Paris bar and hardly anyone noticed. That's not unusual on this night, October 8, 1904. It's 11 months before Einstein would publish his Theory of Relativity and about three years before Picasso launched the cubism artistic movement with his painting Les Demoiselles d'Avignon.
Tonight, they are two men waiting for the world to discover their genius, talking about their passions of science and art. Their fictional meeting at a real Paris bar comes to the stage through the witty, insightful eyes of Steve Martin in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.” This play brings a touching, and comic final bow to Stage 9's 2019 season.
